Cookie Policy
This site runs lean. The marketing pages set no cookie at all until you interact with them, and the only thing stored by default is your light or dark theme preference — kept in your own browser and never sent to us.
1What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. It lets the site recognise your browser on a later visit — to keep you signed in, remember a preference, or count a visit.
This policy also covers technologies that do a similar job without being cookies: local storage and session storage, which keep data in your browser and, unlike cookies, are never automatically sent to a server; and pixels, tiny images used to record that a page or email was opened. We refer to all of them as cookies below.
Cookies are first-party when set by the site you are visiting and third-party when set by another domain. They are session cookies if they vanish when you close the browser, and persistent if they survive until they expire or you delete them.
2What we use them for
We group what we use into three categories, and they are not treated alike.
- Strictly necessary. Without these the service cannot work — signing you in, keeping your session, protecting a form against cross-site request forgery, balancing load. These are set on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing a service you asked for, and cannot be turned off from within the product.
- Preferences. These remember a choice you made so you do not have to make it again — the light or dark theme, for instance. Losing them is an inconvenience, not a failure.
- Analytics. These help us understand which pages and features get used, so we can decide what to build and what to fix. We set these only with your consent, and we configure them to collect as little as the job needs.

In the platform (app.dataetic.com)
The application necessarily uses more, because it has to know who you are. These are the categories it uses; the platform's own cookie settings show the current detail.

4Third-party cookies
A few things on our sites are served by other companies, which may set their own cookies under their own policies:
- Our payment provider — when you reach a checkout or billing page, for fraud prevention and to process the payment.
- Our analytics provider — where you have consented to analytics.
- Our documentation site at docs.dataetic.com, which is a separate site with its own cookies.
- Embedded content — if a page embeds a video or similar from another service, that service may set cookies when the content loads.
We do not control third-party cookies and cannot delete them for you. Read the relevant provider's own cookie notice, and use the browser controls below.
5How to control them
In the product
Where the platform sets non-essential cookies, it asks first and gives you a settings panel to change your mind at any time. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be switched off, because without them you cannot sign in.
In your browser
Every major browser lets you see, block and delete cookies, and clear local storage. The controls are usually under Settings, then Privacy:
- Chrome — Settings, Privacy and security, Third-party cookies / Site data
- Safari — Settings, Privacy, Manage Website Data
- Firefox — Settings, Privacy & Security, Cookies and Site Data
- Edge — Settings, Cookies and site permissions
Blocking all cookies will break the sign-in flow, and clearing site data will forget your theme choice. Blocking cookies on the marketing site costs you nothing.
6Do Not Track and global privacy control
Browsers vary in how they express a tracking preference and there is no settled standard for Do Not Track, so we do not claim to honour a signal we cannot interpret reliably. What we do instead is simpler: we set no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies at all, and we treat a Global Privacy Control signal, where your browser sends one, as an opt-out of analytics cookies.
7Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the cookies we use change. The effective date at the top of the page tells you which version you are reading. A change that requires your consent will be asked for, not assumed.
